Gig time! My band, RockLab plays the Pavillion at the Puyallup Farmer’s Market THIS SATURDAY 8/30, 11am!
We’re breaking out the labcoats this weekend at the Puyallup Farmer’s Market! Starting at 11am, we’ll be rocking out two nice long sets in the Pavilion at Pioneer Park, all snuggled in with the local produce and goods.
Puyallup Farmer’s Market is located in Pioneer Park, at 330 South Meridian, Downtown Puyallup.
Find out more about the Farmer’s Market here and check out some of our music at www.rocklabtacoma.com!
Mmmm. Hope we get a long enough break to hunt down some squash and honey…
Check out this episode of “Behind the Glitter” with Espionage Cosmetics, purveyors of #nerdmakeup and the masterminds behind the “Curses!” body glitter photoshoot.
Watch the Curses! BTG Video!
I blogged about the photoshoot a few months back, with several of my own BTS pics, but somehow I missed the finished video! There are, of course, lots of BTS shenanigans, which is always fun, but also some neat sneak peeks into how the “glitter shirts” were applied (lots of glue) and interviews with the ever-amazing head of Espionage Cosmetics, Jamie Cordero (aka, @TheGlitterJedi). You also see me eating things and giggling and making silly poses while covered in glitter… in other words, an intimate look at my everyday life.
Espionage is currently en route to San Diego Comic Con, where they are going to be incredibly busy and important. Keep your eyes open for their big announcement coming soon!

RockLab plays the Bowl Stage at Taste of Tacoma THIS FRIDAY 6/27, 4PM!
Start the weekend out right and make your way to Point Defiance Park for the annual Taste of Tacoma food fair & music festival! My band, RockLab (www.rocklabtacoma.com) is slated to play at 4pm at the Bowl Stage.
I’m stoked for this gig– it’s our first outing with our new guitarist and under our new(ish) branding. As RockLab, we’re focused on “Rock n’Roll Experimentation”… musical mash-ups of amazing songs. I won’t spoil all the surprises, but lets just say Adele and Rocky Balboa are one helluva pairing. Buhm. Buhm buhm BUHM. I’m still sore from all the crazy dancing at rehearsal last night.
Taste of Tacoma is a great event– 3 days of 100 musical acts, 29 restaurant booths, wine tasting, beer garden, and family events. Here’s the musical schedule for the weekend!
Come out and dance with us!
It’s been a long time–and a few failed attempts– in the making, but I finally got myself together and finished up my artist’s website. As per usual, it proved impossible for me to completely separate one method of storytelling over the other; this, by the way, is the thing I love, love, love–the necessary entwining of words and music to fully tell/hear/feel the whole story.
So, for all things acting, singing, and writing in my world, keep your eyes on emilierommelshimkus.com. You’ll find easily accessible headshots, resumes, links to work, contact information, news and info, or just a place to reach out to me for work and collaboration.
